Learn to service and maintain antique machinery and equipment at Lambton Heritage Museum!
Over the course of four sessions, participants will learn from Museum staff about historic farm equipment in our collection. Activities will include learning to start, operate and stop our Rumely tractor, as well as servicing the stuck engine of our Oliver 99 tractor. After maintenance has been completed, participants will learn to safely operate this tractor as well.
Sessions will run on Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. between April 20 and May 11. Attendance at all four sessions is recommended, as information in each session will build on previous sessions. There is no cost to participate. Register via the link below or by phone to the Museum at 519-243-2600.
All participants must sign a volunteer agreement with the Museum to be able to handle our artifacts and machinery. The Volunteer Form can be completed on our website, or participants can fill out a physical copy at the Museum during the first session.
Participants should wear appropriate clothing for working with machinery, such as no loose sleeves. Long hair should be tied back. Clothing may be stained with oil or grease.
