Learn to service and maintain antique machinery and equipment at Lambton Heritage Museum!
The museum has many examples of historic farm equipment and machinery in our Agricultural Exhibition Hall. This program is for anyone with an interest in these machines who would like to learn more about how they operate.
Over the course of four sessions, participants will assist museum staff in the maintenance of a Rumely Tractor from the collection. Activities will include pulling and cleaning pistons, replacing gaskets, and changing the oil in the radiator. Sessions will run on Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on April 22, 29, May 6, and 13.
Attendance at all four sessions is not mandatory but is recommended, as information in each session may build on previous sessions.
There is no cost to participate, however, all participants will be required to sign a volunteer agreement with the museum to take part in the program. Register via the form below or by phone to the museum at 519-243-2600.
Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing for working with machinery, including no loose sleeves. Long hair should be tied back. Clothing material may be stained with oil or grease.
